With a new summer of fundraising fast approaching we’re doing our spring cleaning to ensure the website remains in tip top condition. To complete this we are planning releases on 29 February and 2 March, resulting in the website being unavailable.
- 22:00 on Wednesday 29 February until 02:00 on Thursday 1 March
- 20:00 on Friday 2 March until 06:00 on Saturday 3 March
If you have any reports saved within your account that you’d like to keep, just log onto the reporting site and save the reports to your computer before 2 March 2012.

Hi there – my event is tomorrow and I have had loads of sponsor money come in last minute this evening, I hadn’t seen that there was going to be site maintenance tonight
Can people still donate tonight? Or I cannot remember whether I had set the page to run for a period of time after the event as well…is there anyway of checking please?

While we’re carrying out the site maintenance it won’t be possible for anyone to donate to your page tonight.
When you create a page on Virgin Money Giving by default the page will stay open for a period of time. You can extend this or re-open a page after an event. You’ll be able to do this tomorrow morning when the website is available again. If you need any help with this just let us know.

We’ve been able to spot this too using the Google Chrome web browser, can you try refreshing the page? It appears the be a browser cache issue following our website updates at the weekend. When you’re looking at a page with a red background press [CTRL] + [R] ( or [CMD] + [R] on a Mac) to refresh the page, from then on when you browse the site you shouldn’t see a red background.

When doing the maintenance it looks as though the ‘About you’ panel on the fundraising page does not let you type anything in there.
Do you know when this will be fixed, am keen to send people the link and start fundraising.

We’re aware of an issue following last Friday’s website update where users of Google Chrome/Safari are having issues with updating the ‘About Me’ area.
We’re working on this right now and will post an update when we have one. In the mean time if you’re able to try a different browser like Firefox you should be ok.

I’m sure this is getting a little old, and massively time consuming…
I am, needless to say, also unable to update my target & my offline total at the moment.
My target sum is £1000.00, and my current offline total is £285.00.
Please don’t feel that you necessarily need to update it for me (unless you have nothing better to do!) I suspect getting the issue fixed is far more valuable in the long run!!! Do you happen to know how long it will take for this problem to get sorted out?

I made a mistake on my fundraising profile and accidentally created a page three times! I have de-activated two of the pages but they still appears on my active one. Can the two de-activated ones be completely taken off as it’s confusing my sponsors which page is the one to put their donation on.

I tried to update my target from 500 to 750 but this seems to have wiped out the indicator bar and despite having raised470 ish it’s showing as 0 in the barometer. Any way to re calibrate it?

We can’t remove the pages you created in error, but you can turn off the previous fundraising on your page. To do this, sign into your account, and choose to edit the correct page, and then ‘Amend Fundraising’ page. At the top of the page, you can then turn of your previous fundraising.
This will remove the links to your other pages. Hope that helps, if you need me to take a look at your page for you, let me know

Thanks for your help Antony. I’ve already done what you have said so I think that’s as far as I can go with it. On my fundraising page there is an ‘other fundraising’ box which lists all three page creations, I’m guessing nothing can be done with that either?

The ‘other fundraising’ feature can be turned off when you’re editing your page, there’s a check box at the top which turns on and off the widgets on your page. I’ve checked your page for you, and switched this off. Your page should update in a few minutes and the links to the unused pages should be removed.

Apologies for the inconvenience, this is the issue post above on this blog post. We’re working on an update at the moment to correct the problem. It’s likely you’re using Google Chrome, or Safari. If you’re able to use another web browser like Firefox you should be fine.
