Update @ 06:00 24/02/2011
Today’s release has completed. The Virgin Money Giving website is now fully available again.

New – Email tools and see who’s donated

Another request we’ve received from fundraisers is to be able to see details of who’s donated, and we’re really pleased to announce we’re adding a new feature to help you with this.

When you sign into your fundraising account we’re introducing a new option on the menu called ‘See my donors’. From here you’ll be able to view the details of who has donated to your fundraising page including their real name, donation amount, comment, and email address.

Email Address screen

If you send an email to your contacts through the Virgin Money Giving website you’ll see a list of everyone you’ve emailed along with who has and hasn’t donated yet. Within a couple of clicks you can send your own thank you message or a remind those who haven’t got round to donating yet.

We know some people will still want to be anonymous when they donate, so we’ll check that they’re happy for you to see their email address before they make the donation.

Email Permissions

Any fundraisers who’ve already donated to your page before we put in this new feature will still show as anonymous.

We’re also adding more new tools including Facebook Connect, Twitter, and PayPal.

New – Twitter tools on Virgin Money Giving

Twitter share buttonNot only can you share a link to your fundraising page through Facebook, we’re also making it easy to tweet about your fundraising too.

Once you’ve created your page, in just a couple of clicks you’ll be able to tweet an update to your your followers to let them know you’ve started fundraising

We’ll automatically include a link to your page, and you can use the rest of the 140 characters to add your own message.

What’s more, your supporters will be able to tweet once they’ve donated helping you to reach their friends too.

After their donation is confirmed, they’ll see a ‘Share a link on Twitter’ button.  After a click, and signing into Twitter, we’ll have an update ready for them with a link to your fundraising page.

New – Facebook tools on Virgin Money Giving

Facebook LogoWe’re adding some new features to make it even easier to spread the word about your fundraising page. The first is Facebook Connect.

Facebook Connect allows you to sign into Facebook while you’re on the Virgin Money Giving website and update your status in just a couple of clicks. It will be available for fundraisers, and their supporters once they’ve donated.

For fundraisers

Once you’ve set up your Virgin Money Giving page, and signed in with your Facebook details, you’ll be able to update your status on Facebook straight away with a link to your page. You can write your own message about your fundraising challenge and we’ll add your page address for you.

Also, whenever you come back to update your fundraising page, you can let all your friends on Facebook know what’s new. We’ve added some suggested words, or you can write your own update and post it straight to Facebook.

For donors

After you’ve made a donation you can help spread the word about the fundraiser or cause you’ve supported by letting your friends on Facebook know.

You can add your own message to your status update encouraging your friends to donate as well, or maybe the reason the charity you’ve donated to is important to you. We’ll include a link to the page so your friends can find out more.

And here’s how it will look on Facebook
