Phil Packer’s 26 miles for 26 charities

Major Phil PackerPhil Packer, who suffered severe spinal cord injuries while serving in Iraq, is taking on the 2010 Virgin London Marathon in a bid to raise money for 26 different charities.

His previous fundarising challenges have included rowing the channel, climbing El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, and the 2009 London Marathon, raising over £1.3 million for Help for Heroes.

He’ll begin at 10am on the 25th April and will walk the full marathon course, aiming to cross the line 26 hours later.

Through each mile he’ll be joined by a support walker nominated by the charity he’s supporting that mile, with all of the support walkers joining him to cross the line.

You can support Phil Packer’s challenge by donating to a mile through his website at http://www.philpacker.com.

We’d love to hear about your fundraising story too. You could be featured on our homepage, and here on our blog. Email details of your fundraising story and a link to your page to mystory@virginmoneygiving.com.
