Angel of the North runs the Virgin London Marathon

There’s one charity runner this year that you’re really going to struggle to miss during Sundays first Virgin London Marathon. He’s George Bingham and he’s attempting to break the Guiness World Record for running the Marathon in the largest costume.

His’Angel of the north’ is 4 inches taller than the current record so as long has he gets all the way round in one piece the record will be his.

George is running his marathon in support of Sue Ryder Care and you can support him by donating through his Virgin Money Giving fundraising page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/AngelOfTheNorth.

When you see him come past make sure you give him some encouragement!

Update:

The Angel of the North was big! but unfortunately George Bingham was beaten to the record by a 20ft Giraffe. Jean-Paul running for the Meningitis Trust was also fundraising with Virgin Money Giving read more on our latest blog post.
