With the World Cup just around the corner, it looks like summer has finally landed in the UK. So to make the most of the hot sunny weather, and boost your fundraising target, here are our top five tips for fundraising in the sun.
1. The classic American lemonade stand
The iconic American lemonade stand is a great way to take advantage of the warm weather. Simply pitch up to your friends, family, or work colleagues with cold drinks or ice creams with the profits going to your fundraising total.
2. The car wash
Washing cars for cash is a great way to boost your fundraising page. While the sun is shining you could be working your way down the street or round the office car park.
The ‘Geeks & Peaks’ have been fundraising for their three peaks challenge, with a large share of their page total coming from car washing.
3. The BBQ with an entry fee
Invite your friends round for a BBQ at the weekend and, whilst sitting in the garden grilling some sausages and burgers over the coals, insist they part with cash before they take a bite (best to warn them in advance though so they come with lots of change).
4. The gardener
If you’re a mowing perfectionist and insist the turf on your front lawn is the standard of a world cup pitch then why not offer your services to the neighbours? Mowing lawns and trimming hedges in exchange for a donation to your fundraising page.
5. The garage sale
So you’ve fought your way past all the junk in the garage or shed to get the lawn mower out and manicured every lawn on the street, you can make putting it away much easier by holding a ‘garage’ sale. Sell your unwanted hidden treasures and add the proceeds to your fundraising page.
Obviously make sure you apply plenty of sunscreen while fundraising outdoors and drink plenty of water!
