Running a marathon….on roller skates?

If running the 26.2 miles around the Virgin London Marathon course isn’t really your thing, but you’d like to give a marathon a go, here’s an event that might be for you.

On 8 August skaters of all abilities will take to the historic Goodwood motor racing circuit in West Sussex for the annual Goodwood Roller Marathon. The event is organised by the Camberley Skaters and draws in skaters of all abilities including speed skaters, hockey skaters, recreational skaters, quad skaters, and longboarders.

There are four race distances available starting from the mini (4.84 miles) all the way up to Dual (53.24 miles) with skaters raising money for the NSPCC. Why not get together with some of your mates, or encourage your colleagues in the office to get their skates on and join you.

Registration for the event is now open and starts from just £5. All skaters are issued with a timing chip and receive a medal on completion.

You can sign up and find out more details at and for updates you can find them on facebook and twitter.

Once you’ve got your place, get your skates on and create your Virgin Money Giving fundrasing page.

Hi – can anyone tell me how I can make an “offline” donation?

    Many thanks

There are a couple of ways you can add ‘offline’ fundraising amounts to your fundraising page.

    1. You can pay the money directly to the charity yourself, and update your page to show an offline total. The same question was asked in our forum, and you can see how to do it here.

    2. Alternatively you can pay the money you’ve received into your own bank account, and then use your debit card to make a donation to your page for the total amount.

Which ever option is easiest for you.
