The ballot for our first Virgin London Marathon training workshop is now closed.
But don’t worry, there’s still a chance to meet with other people taking part in the marathon and get advice from our expert runners. We’d love you to join us for our second workshop on the 26 March hosted by Olympic athlete Liz Yelling and husband, ultra-marathon runner and triathlete Martin Yelling.
Hosted at Dorney Lake, the venue for the 2012 Olympic rowing events, the day will focus on preparing to run the Virgin London Marathon itself and on pacing. Dorney Lake is a fantastic venue and the training days help to boost confidence in your ability and get participants enthused about the challenge ahead.
Whatever your plan – to just get round the 26.2 miles of the Virgin London marathon, or to do it in a specific time, the day is a great opportunity to meet fellow runners and to discuss training plans, nutrition and recovery – everything you need to know about training for the marathon, and the day itself is covered.
Running the Virgin London Marathon is no easy feat, but the team hosting the day do all they can to put your mind at ease.
The day is great for all levels – at last year’s sessions there were some runners aiming for 3:30 marathons, other 6hrs plus. And there’s a real buzz amongst those taking part and really helps you to get to grips with the challenge.
To be in the hat to take part in this training session all you need do is sign up for the Virgin Money Giving Runners Club and then enter the training workshop ballot.
