In just two months time I’ll be taking on my next gruelling challenge – attempting to swim across the Irish Sea to help raise £1 million for Cancer Research UK. The Irish Sea is 56 miles from Holyhead to Dublin – nearly three times the length of the English Channel, and there are sharks and jellyfish! This has only been successfully completed before by a team of swimming professionals and the weather conditions and currents are very changeable which is a huge challenge.
I’ll be joined by Ronan Keating, TV’s Jason Bradbury, Jenny Frost and Steve Parry – who won bronze at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the 200 metre Butterfly event. And there’s room in the team for two more swimmers!
You have until 15 July to get involved and be in with a chance of joining the team! All you have to do is visit www.the-swim.co.uk, register and commit to raise at least £100 for the charity.
