On 21 August, professional wartime tribute act and 1940s singer Heather Marie McHale held a vintage tea party at The Canary Cage in Liverpool to raise money for the RAF Association Wings Appeal.
After performing for the RAF Association on numerous occasions, Heather made the decision to start fundraising for the Wings Appeal after hearing about the valuable work they undertake.
“The RAF Associations and in particular the Wings Appeal and Miles More Minutes Campaign is a very worthy charity. The charity is in much need of receiving more support from the public, both through fundraising and helping raise awareness of the work in general” said Heather.
The event was held as part of the Manchester Pride Fringe, and was a Vintage Wartime ‘Tease’ Party.
With the assistance of Heather’s friends, the afternoon was full of vintage delights including tea and cake, burlesque, comedy and vintage vocals.
There was also raffle with prizes kindly donated by the RAF Association and local businesses in Manchester.
After the success of the August event, Heather has got the fundraising big and is keen to reach her £2000 target to continue supporting the RAF Wings Appeal.
