Just two and a half years after our launch you’ve broken the £100 million donation barrier.
In these short 30 months you’ve also helped boost the online giving market by 59% – and because Virgin Money Giving is not-for-profit, an extra £3.4 million* has gone to charities.
And our super-fast Gift Aid reclaim process has seen over 85% of all donations on the site boosted by the taxman, which of course we pass on in full to the charity.
Over 2.7 million donations have been received to the various fundraisers and charities with over 4,000 charities registered.
We would like to offer a huge thanks to all the charities, fundraisers, events and donors that have supported us over the past two and a half years and hope that we can continue to offer support to all those that use the site – and see more money reach good causes.
Fundraisers have taken part in a range of fundraising activities, from marathons and triathlons to sky dives, Ironman events, bungee jumps and cake sales. If you’re taking part in a fundraising activity and are registered on Virgin Money Giving please let us know – we can follow your story and feature you on our blog.
* If the money raised through Virgin Money Giving since launching in October 2009 was raised through JustGiving instead, £3.4 million less would have reached charities. This is based on the Gift Aid reclaim rate for Virgin Money Giving and the overall mix of payment types on Virgin Money Giving.
