Missed the ballot – there are still ways to enter the 2013 Virgin London Marathon

Although the public ballot for the 2013 Virgin London Marathon has now closed there are still plenty of ways to get a place.

If you have a particular cause you’re interested in running for contact the charity directly – they may have spaces. Each year charities are offered ‘bond’ places and in exchange for the place they’ll set you a minimum fundraising target for the charity.

Next year Age UK and YouthNet are the joint charity partners, but there are plenty of charities who have places.

If you deferred your place from this year, or your charity has already guaranteed your entry into the 2013 event you can put your fundraising page together now.

With the 2o13 Virgin London Marathon nearly a year away, there is plenty of time to tackle other races and distances. There are still places available in many events, and if you run for charity many f these will have lower fundraising targets such as the Run to the Beat Half Marathon in Greenwich.

Also, don’t forget to check back in October when places in the Virgin London Marathon are officially announced.

As soon as your place is confirmed don’t forget to put your fundraising page together, We’ve seen that the earlier you get your page set up, the more donations you’re likely to get from donors.
