We’ve helped charities raise more through the Virgin London Marathon

Virgin Money Giving is the official fundraising website of  the Virgin London Marathon, and since launching in 2009, we’ve helped charities like yours receive over £145 million* – with £38.8 million raised by the Marathon alone.

Our 2012 Marathon Figures speak for themselves…

In fact, in the last three years over £1.3 million more has reached charities just by Virgin London Marathon runners fundraising through us instead of JustGiving** – because we’re 100% not-for-profit.

- £16.8 million raised through Virgin Money Giving in 2012.
- 22% up on last year’s total of £13.8 million!
- £1,469 (incl. Gift Aid) raised on average by Virgin Money Giving fundraisers.
- 87% of donations included Gift Aid.

20,000 more reasons to use us!

And if all that wasn’t enough reason for Virgin London Marathon runners to use us – this year we’re giving away ‘kit bags‘ to the first 20,000 runners who start their 2013 Virgin London Marathon fundraising with Virgin Money Giving.

* Figure includes Gift Aid, up to 29/9/12

**If the £38.8 million raised through Virgin Money Giving for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Virgin London Marathons was raised through JustGiving instead, £1.3 million less would have reached charities. This is based on the Gift Aid reclaim rate for the Virgin London Marathon on Virgin Money Giving and the overall mix of payment types on Virgin Money Giving.

It is good that more money goes to the charities through Virgin Money Giving, HOWEVER, the Virgin website is not as good as Just Giving who let you upload photos and create links to blogs which actually work! The fundraising page is just as important and that’s what will encourage people to donate, especially if they can see that fundraisers are doing things to raise funds with up to date blogging and photos.

    Hi Rebecca

We’re always grateful to receive feedback, and we’ve got some exciting new features coming to the website next year.

After spotting your post in the forums the other day I’d been into your account and corrected the blog post widget. The reason your blog wasn’t showing is that the address of your blogs RSS URL needed to be added, instead of the regular blog address. It’s a frequently asked question on the forum so we’ll look to highlight it in a help guide.

Your current, and any future blogs will now show up on your page.

Let us know if you have any other feedback, and best of luck with your fundraising!

Thank you. I waited 3 months for somebody to get back to me about this and never got any joy so ‘gave up’ blogging. Any news on the uploading of photos on Picassa? Becci Man.
