Virgin London Marathon infographic

Everyone knows the Virgin London Marathon is 26.2 miles long but there are lots of other numbers behind the iconic event.

    Lots or organisation expertise.
    Any breakdown on where entrants are from? Would be interested as a disappointed Londoner.

    Do the professional runners that drop out of the marathon have to take the tube home like us mortals, or are other arrangements made? I always wonder…

    The Elite field are picked up by course marshals and returned to the Marathon HQ, they’ll use all sorts of transport to get back, depending on where they are on the course.

    julie stewart april 20 2013 6.00 pm. this is my first marathon, training . not gone well. i have had several injuries . i still have a sciatica problem , but im going to do my best as i wether i walk jog or run, its for a great cause .just like to thank all the organisers they have done a great job.

    A massive amount of preparation and attention to detail – well done VLM guys! However, you are not alone, my wife has been preparing all day ….. and we are just watching! Good luck to all the runners!

    Good Luck, and enjoy everyone…I had to pull out due to Injury but will be at the Children With Cancer UK cheer stand @ 21.5 miles. Free high 5s and RAAARRRRRs , just ask for Aii x
