Some of the fundraisers on Virgin Money Giving come up with crazy fundraising ideas and James Harvey being one of them had a crazy idea to cycle round the coast of Britain. And is currently turning that idea into a reality whilst fundraising for The Big C.
He started his journey on 1 May from Norwich, first stop was the most eastern part of Britain (Lowestoft) then he made his way anti-clockwise around the coast before finally ending up back in Norwich by the end of July.
He said; “it’s a distance of between 4000 and 4500 miles and I intend to average around 65 miles a day, carrying all my equipment with me. I’ll be camping for the most part, with the occasional B&B or hotel, and dropping in to see friends and family as I go.”
James is fundraising for The Big C, a Norfolk Charity that offers support to cancer patients, providing equipment for hospitals and funding cancer research. He says that; “The Big C provided immense support for Lu Harvey who sadly passed away in Feb 2012 after a very brave battle with cancer. We all miss her very much, but even though Lu isn’t around in person she provides inspiration whenever I think of her.”

Good luck James, see you at the end of July!
