Paralympic legend Richard Whitehead to run length of Britain

Richard Whitehead

Almost 12 months ago, Paralympic legend Richard Whitehead electrified the nation with his stunning victory in the 200m Final at the London 2012 Paralympic Games – remind yourself by watching his truly breathtaking winning performance.

To commemorate the anniversary of the Paralympic Games, Richard will shortly embark on the biggest physical challenge of his running life when he attempts to become the first double amputee to run the length of Britain, in the process completing a mind-boggling 40 back-to-back marathons. Much was spoken of creating a lasting legacy from the Games and one year, this is Richard’s way to hopefully inspire everyone and show that a life without limits is possible.

In a unique opportunity to take part in this inspirational journey and run with one of the greatest ever Paralympians, Richard and his supporting partner Virgin Media are inviting up to 1,000 runners to join him (maximum of 25 per day) by running a marathon, a 10k or a 5k along the route.

If you’re interested in taking part in this once-in-a lifetime challenge you can find out more information and register to join Richard on his website

And to support him you can donate through his Virgin Money Giving page
