We were thrilled last week to be invited to the 19th annual Tommy’s Awards. A few of our Team put on their gladrags and made their way to the Landmark Hotel in London on Friday 21 March for a delicious lunch and were even more surprised to win their Community Diamond Award.
Tommy’s are a charity that help fund research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage and provide information for parents-to-be. The annual awards raise awareness of the needs of parents with small children and encourage companies to provide excellent services targeted at their needs.
On Friday. Tommy’s CEO Jane Brewin presented the award to Alex Heasley from Virgin Money Giving and said
“The winner of this year’s Community Diamond Award is an organisation who has given Tommy’s a fabulous platform to grow their community fundraising events
- They have worked with Tommy’s to create a bespoke, user friendly fundraising system which is a massive step change for Tommy’s and has allowed them to dramatically increase income raised through their nationwide mass participation events such as Splashathon and The Baby Races.
- Tommy’s started to work with this organisation in 2010. Since this time, income raised through community fundraising in Tommy’s has risen from £620,000 to a massive £1,600,000.”
Alex Heasley said, “Everyone at Virgin Money Giving is proud to receive this award from Tommy’s and it’s great that we can help them raise more and in turn help fund even more valuable research.”
