We are delighted to introduce our first Prudential RideLondon Bespoke VIP upgrade competition winner, Jon Bull. Jon has won Grandstand tickets, a £100 donation to his Virgin Money Giving page, a 6 month Virgin Active health club membership plus more.
When Jon takes on the 2015 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, he will be fundraising for the British Lung foundation. He tells us “I wanted to raise money and awareness for the British Lung Foundation to help support the fantastic work they do in improving the nation’s lung health and to help research new treatments & cures. I lost my Mum last year, she had respiratory issues throughout her life – so I am cycling in her memory.”
Jon says he chose the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 event because he wanted to take the opportunity to follow the route made famous by the 2012 Olympics, and also to have the chance to cycle past some of London’s most iconic landmarks. He adds “It was also the perfect incentive to get fit and more active.”
When asked how training is going, Jon tells us it’s going well “Now the lighter evenings are here I am getting in the saddle as much as possible. The motivation comes from seeing the generosity of everyone who has sponsored me so far, knowing that the money will help to make a positive change and knowing that I would be making my Mum proud.”
When Jon crosses the finish line on 2 August, he says he will be looking forward to seeing his partner Sarah, his daughter Georgia.. “And of course a cold beverage!”
You can support Jon’s fundraising via his Virgin Money Giving page.
