World Rhino Day

22 September 2015 is World Rhino Day. Started by WWF South Africa in 2010, it grew into an international success and is now supported by many rhino and wildlife charities worldwide.

In the 1900s, there were 500,000 rhinos across Africa and Asia. There are now only 29,000 in the wild with less than 100 of the Sumatran rhino and Javan rhino.

There are many charities who are fighting to stop rhino numbers dropping any further by creating rhino conservation areas and working to stop poaching, you can help by making a donation to one of the below:
