#VMGCorporatesLive: How can Virgin Money Giving help?

Carlos Carasco, fundraising officer for The Mix, knows how great we can be together. The Mix is a digital safe place for teens to seek advice for anything from health concerns to bullying – perfect for some online help from the Virgin Money Giving team.

Carlos tells us more;

Pick the team’s brains

“We had a Virgin Money Giving rep come personally into our office who gave an awesome talk about how charities can use data. I only had a basic understanding of how to do reports, but now I can customise everything I need.”

Crunch the numbers

“Use all that Virgin Money Giving data to do cool stuff. Did you know you can discover the number of donations according to postcode, so you can see which area is the most generous? I have a marked up Google Map which shows which postcodes donate more than others. If I want a complete background on an individual participant, I can get that or I can just print off a quick overview of data to show my boss.”

Let Virgin Money Giving take the strain

“We have a partnership with the Race to the Stones event and have created a Virgin Money Giving campaign page just for us. That makes it more manageable and we can keep a track of what funding is coming in and how active our fundraising is. We are now using Virgin Money Giving for the London Marathon and Ride 999 events. It’s a strong branding exercise to have it all in together.”

Go the extra mile

“You have two ways of donating through Virgin Money Giving. There’s online – your typical web donation – but you can also include offline things like raffles, ticket sales and fundraising events. With the help of the Virgin Money Giving crew we even took the race registration fees of £20 per person and then added them on to each individual’s fundraising total.”

Send the team an S.O.S

Just give the Virgin Money Giving team a call. They are such a friendly bunch and it doesn’t matter if you are very tech savvy or not. They go above and beyond whatever I ask for, whether something’s bugging out on the site or for really big organisational issues.”
